VERON IS MY PREMIER LEAGUE IDOL - ROJO Forwarded by Okan United

Manchester United defender Marcos Rojo has singled out compatriot Juan Sebastian Veron as his Premier League idol.

Rojo, 26, has drawn comparisons with the former United midfielder throughout his career.

The Argentineans played with each other at Estudiantes for three years before Rojo left for Spartak Moscow in 2011 and the 26-year-old followed in Veron’s footsteps when he joined the English giants in a £16m in 2014.

Asked in a Q&A session in a video posted on Man Utd’s Twitter page, Rojo said he “always looked up to Veron”, who played under Sir Alex Ferguson from 2001 to 2003 after signing for a then record fee of £28.1 million.

“Obviously, we have something in common as we both played for Estudiantes. He had a great career here at United.

“He really is one of the greatest players. When I was living in Argentina, I watched him regularly.”
